Vito, who turned 25 a day earlier, was sitting in fifth place entering his third and final run in the superpipe finals at Tignes, France. It was the last run of the contest and Vito delivered arguably his best effort of the season to notch a winning score of 92.66.
With that score, Vito was able to edge local favorite Arthur Longo of France. Longo had a 92.
Japan’s Taku Hiraoka finished in third with 86.
“I’m stoked to come here and get a win and to end my season with this,” Vito said. “It’s scary, but that’s what we love. It’s the adrenaline rush and the fact that the sport’s still evolving at a rapid rate and the fact that we’re all a part of it, all of my friends I grew up riding with. It’s crazy to be here and be those guys really pushing the sport.”
X Games Europe was the final major halfpipe event of the season.
