West Liberty-Salem’s Hormann named third-team all-Southwest District

Seven other local players receive special mention honors

West Liberty-Salem basketball standout Landon Hormann was honored Thursday on the eve of his team’s sectional championship game.

Hormann, who has led the Tigers to a berth against Anna in tonight’s sectional title contest, was selected to the Division III all-Southwest District third team by the Associated Press.

“I am awfully happy for Landon,” said WL-Salem head coach Aaron Hollar. “He is such a team guy and is a very well-rounded player. To be among the top 15 players in the Southwest District, especially being at a school like West Liberty-Salem that is on the outlying edge of the district, is a special honor.”
