Riverside lifters fare well in Shawnee meet

The Riverside powerlifting team had 15 lifters place in the top three of their weight classes Saturday at the Springfield Shawnee powerlifting competition.

Placing first in the junior high division for the Riverside girls were Allie Dickenson (110), Kierstyn Severt (120) and Ashton Wooddell (140).

Ashtyn Defibaugh (120) took first in the high school division. Taylor Stevens was second (120), Bailey Leonard (120) and Alex Klinger (130) were third, Erin Pepper (130) was fourth and Caitlyn Pepper (150) took sixth.

Taking first for the boys in the junior high division were Caleb Stevens (145) and Hunter Goings (225). Tanner Glasgow (125) was eighth.

Mike Schaffer (135), Austin Glasgow (165) and John Tully (195) finished first in the high school division.

Zach Stewart (225) and Kyle Plank (155) were second, Chris Cox (175) took third and Collin Harbour (175) was seventh.

The Pirates are back in action this weekend at Bradford.
