The weight class and competition may have changed, but the level of success for former Indian Lake wrestling standout Kevin Christman has not.
Christman, who was state runner-up for the Lakers in 2010 at 171 pounds, now wrestles at heavyweight for Tiffin University and recently qualified to the NCAA Division II national tournament.
Christman (16-10) placed fourth in the super regional Saturday at Ashland University to earn the national qualifying berth. Christman now wrestles at the NCAA Division II tournament March 8 and 9 in Birmingham, Ala.
“I’m pretty excited to make nationals,” said Christman. “It took a lot of work to get there and we’ll see how I do.”
