Local product takes wrestling passion to Georgia

Seeley relying on his roots to build successful prep program near Atlanta

In the heart of Georgia, there is a growing wrestling program fueled by what can be traced all the way back to Logan County.

Former Benjamin Logan standout Kyle Seeley is putting countless hours in as head coach of the Villa Rica High School wrestling team. This winter, the Wildcats had their most successful season in school history and much of that can be put on the shoulders of Seeley.

Unlike Ohio, Georgia is not a hotbed for high school wrestling. Seeley has leaned on his past to ignite enthusiasm into his Villa Rica team.

“I went back to my roots and that is Ohio wrestling,” said Seeley. “I called my former coach at Ben Logan, Tony Grant, and asked him for some advice. He gave me some great stuff on how he started up Ben Logan’s program. That was the angle I took down here.”
