It was the first division loss of the season for the Falcons, who are now 10-10 overall and 8-1 in the CBC Mad River division.

The Lakers improve to 4-14, 4-5.

Indian Lake had lost to Graham 53-45 earlier this season.

“This was a huge win for our program,” said Indian Lake head coach David Starr. “We played them tough last time. We felt confident if we played four quarters of good defense we could give ourselves a chance at the end.”

Grider was spectacular at the free-throw line, making 15-of-16 attempts.

“He really stepped up,” said Starr. “He attacked the rim and made some crucial free throws that kept our momentum going. He missed his first one and then made 15 in a row. He had a great game.”

The Lakers controlled the game from start to finish. They led 10-7 after the opening quarter and 20-13 at halftime.

The hosts pushed their lead to 11 points (35-24) at the end of the third quarter.

Indian Lake continued to run away from the Falcons in the final period.

In addition to Grider’s big night, Brennon Lump scored 13 points for the Lakers and Jalon Tuttle chipped in with six points.

Graham won the junior varsity game 42-25. Dalton Tron led the Lakers with seven points.

In the freshman game, Indian Lake pulled out a 51-50 win in overtime. Troy Carter had 25 points for the Lakers.

Indian Lake travels to North Union tonight.
