Benjamin Logan’s boys basketball team snapped a 15-game losing skid Friday by beating visiting Northwestern 52-37 in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division action.

The Raiders improve to 4-17 overall and 2-7 in the CBC Mad River division. The Warriors drop to 4-15, 2-7.

Northwestern had beaten Ben Logan 62-52 earlier this season.

“We are excited to get the win,” said Ben Logan head coach Dave Myers. “It was senior night and we were also coming off a good effort against Stebbins on Tuesday. I was really pleased with how the guys got after it tonight.

“Austin Ahle, Dalton Greene and Cole Saylor all did a nice job defending them. All our guys did a nice job defensively. We used our size to our advantage.”

Ben Logan led 9-6 at the end of the first quarter and 23-16 at halftime.

The Raiders held a 32-24 advantage after three quarters and they outscored the Warriors 20-13 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

“Being able to get in the bonus in the fourth quarter helped,” said Myers. “That was big for us. We shot 17 free throws in the fourth quarter.”

Blaine Ricketts sparked the Raiders with a game-high 21 points, Greene added 14 points, while Jordan Sosby chipped in with nine points.

The Raiders won the junior varsity game 65-49.

Ben Logan travels to Indian Lake on Friday.
