Ben Logan teams advance in tourney

Benjamin Logan’s junior high girls basketball teams picked up Central Buckeye Conference tournament wins Tuesday.

The seventh-grade Raiders advanced to the CBC semifinals by defeating Northwestern 52-14. Nikki Current and Jazi McKeen each scored 20 points for the Raiders. Lauren LeVan and Taylor Keene each added four points.

The eighth-grade Raiders slipped past Springfield Shawnee 38-35 to move to the semifinals.

Addie Rodenberger led the winners with 13 points, Hayley Boysel and Darian Rockhold each scored nine points and Coreen Crosby had five points.

Chiefs top Indian Valley

Bellefontaine’s junior high boys basketball teams wrapped up the regular season Tuesday night with wins over Indian Valley.

The seventh-grade Chiefs won 33-26. Spencer George led the Chiefs with 12 points and Nick Lyons had nine points.

The eighth-grade Chiefs won 65-44. Hayden Nease led Bellefontaine with 27 points and Dawsin Tillman had 15 points. Dewaine Davis added 12 points and Hayes Roebuck chipped in eight points. The Chiefs are now 12-3.

Riverside seventh-grade boys win tourney game

Riverside’s seventh-grade boys basketball team won 35-18 over Ridgemont on Tuesday in the opening round of the Northwest Central Conference tournament.

Caleb Stevens led the Pirates with 12 points and Gavin Stallard had 10 points.

Riverside’s eighth-grade team was defeated by Waynesfield-Goshen 28-25. Kurt Waters had 12 points for the Pirates.

Raiders derail Mad River

Benjamin Logan’s junior high boys basketball teams earned wins over Mad River on Tuesday.

The seventh-grade Raiders won 25-18. Grant Ward led Ben Logan with 10 points.

Ben Logan won the eighth-grade contest 30-21. Austin VanBuskirk led the way with nine points and Joel Dixon and Trey Wilson each had seven points.

Indian Lake eighth-graders zap Arrows

Indian Lake’s eighth-grade boys basketball team defeated Tecumseh 54-39 on Tuesday.

The Lakers are now 14-0 on the season.

Alex Jacobs led the Lakers with 19 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Tyler Reprogle had 12 points and five rebounds, Dylan Albright had eight points and Jacob Brunson and Andrew Hulbert chipped in four points.

Calvary Christian rolls past Grand Lake Christian

The Calvary Christian junior high boys basketball team won 35-16 over Grand Lake Christian Academy on Tuesday.

Parker Grothaus led the winners with 14 points. Josh Kilgore had 12 points and Tyler Reinhard added five rebounds for Calvary.

Calvary is now 9-5 on the season.

Tigers’ seventh-grade team downs SCC

West Liberty-Salem’s seventh-grade boys basketball team defeated Springfield Catholic Central 46-32 on Tuesday in the second round of the Ohio Heritage Conference tournament.

For the Tigers, James Loffing had 14 points, Cody King scored 12 points and Braden Miller had nine points.
