Hilliker swimmers have strong showing in Tiffin Invitational

The Hilliker Heat swim team finished seventh out of 15 teams in the Tiffin Invitational on Saturday.

The Francis Family YMCA squad won the meet, with Marion in second and Galion in third.

For the Heat girls in the 9-10 age group, Sarah Starkey was fifth in the 200 freestyle, fifth in the 50 freestyle, fifth in the 50 backstroke and seventh in the 50 breaststroke and Samantha Starkey was seventh in the 50 backstroke, 18th in the 100 individual medley, 19th in the 50 breaststroke, 21st in the 50 butterfly and 22nd in the 50 freestyle.

In the 11-12 age group, Shelby Starkey took fifth in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 50 butterfly, Madeline Dailey was 17th in the 200 freestyle, 28th in the 50 butterfly and 30th in the 100 individual medley, Amy Fulmer placed second in the 50 backstroke, fourth in the 100 freestyle, sixth in the 100 individual medley, eighth in the 50 freestyle and 14th in the 50 butterfly, Shelby Starkey was sixth in the 100 freestyle, seventh in the 100 individual medley and ninth in the 50 backstroke and Lauran Barthauer was 13th in the 50 breaststroke, 16th in the 100 freestyle, 18th in the 100 individual medley, 18th in the 50 butterfly and 24th in the 50 freestyle.
