West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team bounced back from Friday’s loss to Greeneview with a win at Anna on Saturday.
The Tigers slipped past the Rockets 53-50 for a non-league victory.
WL-Salem improves to 15-5 on the season.
Anna took a 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, but WL-Salem found a spark and went on a 21-13 run in the second quarter. That gave the Tigers a 31-27 halftime advantage.
WL-Salem held a 44-37 lead after three quarters.
The Tigers were then able to hold off the Rockets in the final period to collect the win.
Landon Hormann powered the Tigers with 18 points, Travis Mayse had 13 points and Max Bailey added 11 points.
Anna won the junior varsity game 31-18.
WL-Salem hosts Springfield Catholic Central on Friday in an Ohio Heritage Conference contest.
