Gump, Gorham to return from injuries

Bellefontaine’s boys basketball team has weathered the storm with two of its top players sidelined with injuries.

Now, with senior guard Matt Gump and junior guard A.J. Gorham set to return to action, Bellefontaine is looking for a boost as it enters the season’s stretch run.

The Chiefs host Wellington School in a non-league game tonight and then travel to Tippecanoe on Friday for a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division game.

Gump, who was averaging 17.1 points per game at the time of his hand injury, has been out the last eight games.

Gorham, second on the team in scoring at 7.5 ppg, sat out the past five contests.

“It will be nice to have the services of Matt and A.J. again,” said Bellefontaine head coach Henry Stolly. “They have only practiced a couple of days this week, so I am not sure how many minutes they will play, but it will be nice to have some more depth.”
