Wrestling with an attitude goes a long way on the mat and Indian Lake’s grapplers proved they had one Wednesday.

The host Lakers dominated Urbana 58-11 to win a Region 16 A second-round match in the inaugural Division II state dual tournament.

Indian Lake, which is the second seed in its region, received a first-round bye. The Lakers were never in danger of losing in the second round and built a 40-0 lead at one point during the dual. The Lakers recorded eight pins and only lost two matches.

“I think tonight’s performance followed up what we did last Saturday at our tournament and that was wrestling aggressively,” said Indian Lake head coach Scott Tressler. “We are working on getting better before the postseason. The guys are learning that when we get an opponent on their backs we have to pin them.”
