Lakers challenge Cougars, but come up short

Indian Lake’s girls basketball team lost Wednesday night, but there were a lot of positives to take away.

The Lakers trailed a strong Kenton Ridge team by just five points with a little over two minutes remaining in the game.

Kenton Ridge (14-4) was able to dodge the Lakers’ threat for a 72-63 win in a Central Buckeye Conference crossover game.

The Lakers (7-10) were coming off a huge win over Greenon on Saturday. Indian Lake handed the Knights their first CBC Mad River division loss in that contest.

“I feel like we are getting better every day,” said Indian Lake coach Tim McMahon after Wednesday’s game. “I could not be any happier with the girls’ effort tonight. I thought the girls got after it.”
