Greenon’s Chase Green hit a three-point basket with four seconds left in the game as the Knights edged Benjamin Logan 71-70 on Friday in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division contest.
The Raiders slip to 3-11 overall and 1-4 in the CBC Mad River division, while the Knights improve to 6-7, 3-3.
Ben Logan defeated Greenon 71-52 earlier in the season.
“It was a close game the entire way,” said Ben Logan head coach Dave Myers. “We were up by six points in the fourth quarter, but then we had some turnovers and the next thing we knew we are down by six.
“Greenon was able to hit a three-pointer with four seconds left from two or three feet from behind the arc. We couldn’t do anything after that and missed a desperation shot.”
Greenon led 14-10 after the opening quarter.
Ben Logan outscored the Knights 17-15 in the second quarter, but trailed 29-27 at halftime.
The Raiders moved in front 53-49 by the end of the third quarter.
Dalton Greene led Ben Logan with 20 points, Blaine Ricketts had 17 points and David Wenger added 10 points.
Greenon won the junior varsity game 43-35.
Ben Logan hosts Urbana today in a CBC Mad River division contest.
