Dayton Jefferson’s girls basketball team pulled away in the final minutes against host Ridgemont on Monday for a 60-53 non-league victory.
The loss drops the Gophers to 0-15 on the season.
It was a valiant effort by the Gophers. They trailed just 54-52 with two minutes left in the game, but were unable to come away with a victory.
“This is the kind of effort that will help turn Ridgemont girls basketball around and into a respectable program the girls can be proud of,” said Ridgemont head coach Jeff Merklin. “I really hurt for them tonight. They deserved a ‘W’.
