Raiders, Lakers look to turn seasons around

Basketball hoops

A chance at a turnaround begins Friday for Benjamin Logan and Indian Lake’s boys basketball teams. The two squads meet Friday at Ben Logan for a local Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division contest.

Both teams have struggled on the court so far this season. The Raiders are 3-9 overall and 1-2 in the CBC Mad River division, while the Lakers are just 1-9, 1-2.

Despite their records, both coaches feel facing a county rival will bring out the best in their teams.

“Indian Lake will come to play,” said Ben Logan head coach Dave Myers. “They just had a nice win over Northwestern and will be ready for us. That just comes with this game being a big rivalry game. They will give us their best shot.”

“As a coach you want your players to be intense every game,” said Indian Lake first-year head coach David Starr. “I hope we are coming out with a defensive mindset ready to compete. I’m sure both teams will be excited to compete against one of their county rivals.”
