Bellefontaine’s wrestling team is the largest of the local squads and that depth helped give the Chieftains an edge Tuesday as they went 2-0 in a tri-meet against visiting Triad and Springfield Shawnee.
The Chieftains topped the Cardinals 48-30 and then worked over the Braves for a 51-25 win.
Triad defeated Shawnee 28-19 in the third dual meet.
“Picking up two wins was in part due to our ability to fill out a full lineup,” said BHS head coach Rick Reed. “That is something we are proud of. Building numbers in our program has been an important goal over the last few seasons.”
