Lakers, Chiefs split

Bellefontaine’s seventh-grade boys basketball team defeated Indian Lake 45-32, while Indian Lake prevailed 35-33 in overtime in the eighth-grade contest Monday night.

Spencer George paced Bellefontaine’s seventh-grade team with 11 points. Trey Stahler had eight points and Nick Lyons added seven points.

For Indian Lake in the eighth-grade game, Alex Jacobs had 13 points and eight rebounds. Nate Kaffenbarger scored 10 points and Tyler Reprogle had eight points and 14 rebounds. The Lakers are now 9-0 on the season.

Hayden Nease led Bellefontaine with 11 points. Dawsin Tillman, Dewayne Davis, Jacob Miller and Clay Wisner each had five points.

Tigers zap Cardinals

West Liberty-Salem’s seventh-and eighth-grade boys basketball teams recently defeated Triad in Ohio Heritage Conference games.

The Tigers won the eighth-grade contest 31-29 and the seventh grade won 35-32.

James Loffing led WL-Salem’s eighth grade with 12 points and Max Eggleston had nine points.

For the seventh grade, Kannon Stillings had 12 points for the Tigers.
