Kenton Ridge’s talented boys and girls bowling teams swept visiting Bellefontaine on Friday in Central Buckeye Conference action.
The Cougars held on to win the girls match 2,159-2,146 and took the boys match 2,824-2,677.
Peighton Wagoner paced the Chieftain girls with games of 166 and 198 for a 364 series. Sierra Rhoades rolled games of 174 and 169 for a 343 series, Allie Skelly had a 210 game and 328 series and Haleigh Stafford added a 180 game and a 310 series.
For Bellefontaine’s boys, Joey Jacobs recorded games of 222 and 188 for a 410 series, while Devin Legge had a 225 game and 384 series. Adam Williams rolled a 204 game and Cody Hullinger had a 183 game.
In junior varsity action, Kenton Ridge beat the BHS boys 1,969-1,920 and defeated the Chieftain girls 1,706-1,534.
Alex Richards led the BHS boys with games of 189 and 179 for a 368 series. Caleb Wykstra had a game of 157 and Josh Rinbolt had a 141 game.
The Bellefontaine girls saw Brandy Cole roll a 138 game.
Bellefontaine travels to Kenton on Tuesday for a non-league contest.
Urbana tops Raiders, Lakers
Urbana’s boys bowling team edged host Benjamin Logan and beat Indian Lake on Friday in a Central Buckeye Conference match at T-P Lanes.
The Hillclimbers slipped past the Raiders 2,755-2,750, while the Lakers finished third with 2,313.
Michael O’Conner led Indian Lake with games of 223 and 190 for a 413 series, while Cody Bodi had a game of 206 and Tony Carpenter had a game of 182.
In junior varsity action, Urbana won with 2,054, Indian Lake was second with 2,022 and Ben Logan took third with 1,681.
For the Lakers, Charlie Carpenter and Dalton Peters each had games of 187.
Scores for Ben Logan were not available at press time.
The Raiders are back in action Tuesday at Northwestern and Indian Lake travels to Greenon.
Tigers sweep SCC
West Liberty-Salem’s boys and girls bowling teams swept host Springfield Catholic Central on Friday in Ohio Heritage Conference action at Shamrock Lanes.
The Tiger boys edged the Irish 2,166-2,163 to earn the win, while the Tiger girls won 2,055-1,868.
Justin Dallas sparked WL-Salem’s boys with a game of 182, Phil Davis had a 175 game and Brad Burt added a 168 game.
For WL-Salem’s girls, Codi McNutt rolled a 192 game, Sarah Eleyet had a 187 game and Megann Boyd had a 143 game.
WL-Salem hosts Greeneview on Tuesday at Southwest Lanes.
