Raiders’ Harmon wins GMVWA heavyweight title

FAIRBORN — It was his second time taking center stage at the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association Holiday Tournament, but this time Beau Harmon came out on top.

The Benjamin Logan senior heavyweight won the 285-pound championship at the 52-team holiday tournament Saturday at the Ervin J. Nutter Center.

Harmon reached the finals at last year’s tourneyt, but lost to the Division II defending state champion and settled for second place.

“It felt really good to win here,” said Harmon. “After last year, this feels extra special. I’ve been working really hard to get here and I will continue to work hard and get better.”

Graham ran away with the GMVWA team title on Saturday, scoring 295 points. The Falcons had four champions and two other finalists. Campbell County, Kent., was second with 202 points, Delta was third with 146.5 points and Simon Kenton, Kent., was fourth with 132 points.
