Triad derails Irish for first win
Triad’s boys basketball team handled host Springfield Catholic Central on Friday for a 67-57 win in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Cardinals are now 1-3 overall and begin OHC play at 1-0. The Irish fall to 0-2, 0-1.
Triad grabbed a 13-8 advantage after the opening quarter and enjoyed a 27-19 lead at halftime.
The Cardinals continued to pull away in the third quarter with a 22-9 run. That burst gave Triad a commanding 49-28 advantage.
Chaz Adams powered Triad’s offense with 21 points, Chris Nott had 18 points and Collin Watson added 10 points.
In junior varsity action, Catholic Central won 38-25.
Triad hosts Cedarville on Tuesday in another OHC contest.
