BHS boys edge Urbana for another bowling win

Bellefontaine’s boys bowling team stayed perfect on the season with a 2,794-2,739 win over Urbana on Thursday.

The Chiefs are now 10-0 overall and 3-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference.

It was a team effort for Bellefontaine. Cale Sterling had games of 176 and 247 for a 423 series, Cody Hullinger rolled games of 220 and 202 for a 422 series, Roman Miller posted games of 179 and 216 for a 395 series, Joey Jacobs had a 209 game and Alex Richards added a 194 game.

In the reserve boys match, Urbana won 1,928-1,723. Dalton Massey led the Chiefs with a 151 game.

Urbana won the varsity girls match 2,537-1,729. Allie Skelly and McKinley Manns each had a 147 game for the Chiefs and Sierra Rhoades added a 134 game.

The Hillclimbers also prevailed in the junior varsity girls match 1,828-1,337. Brandy Cole led Bellefontaine with a 120 game.

WL-Salem girls down West Carrollton

The West Liberty-Salem girls bowling team defeated West Carrollton 1,893-1,460 in a non-league match Thursday.

Megann Boyd led the Tigers with a 159 game and 294 series. Codi McNutt had a 144 game and 278 series and Sarah Eleyet had a 253 series.

In the boys varsity match, West Carrollton won 2,412-2,038.

Phil Davis led the Tigers with a 222 game and 406 series. Justin Dallas and Ben Cummins combined for a 337 series.

Indian Lake boys slip to Braves

Indian Lake’s boys bowling team had a strong showing Thursday, but came up on the short end of a 2,516-2,453 decision against Springfield Shawnee at Victory Lanes.

Tony Carpenter rolled a 236 game and 398 series for the Lakers. Michael Stevens had a 227 game and Cody Bodi added a 189 game.

The Lakers did not have enough bowlers to post a team score in the reserve match, but Dalton Peters tallied a 186 game and 360 series and Connor Dickerson had a 184 game.
