Hilliker swimmers take fifth in Fall Fiesta

The Hilliker Heat swim team placed fifth out of 13 teams in the overall standings in the Fall Fiesta Invitational last weekend in Lima.

For the girls in the open division, the 200 medley relay of Emma Smith, Jessica Miller, Shelby Phillips and Sarah Mally was second.

Also in the girls open division, Sarah Mally was third in the 100 butterfly, eighth in the 200 individual medley and ninth in the 200 freestyle, Emma Smith was fifth in the 100 breaststroke, ninth in the 50 freestyle and 11th in the 100 individual medley, Shelby Phillips placed seventh in the 100 butterfly and 12th in the 100 individual medley, Brooke Zarnosky took ninth in the 100 breaststroke, ninth in the 100 freestyle and 15th in the 50 freestyle, Alina Nattkamp finished first in the 50 freestyle and 11th in the 100 breaststroke and Megan Barthauer was 10th in the 500 freestyle.

In the girls 8-and-under age group, Ashton Carey was third in the 25 freestyle, Mia Stallard took first in the 50 freestyle, 13th in the 25 butterfly, 15th in the 25 backstroke and 17th in the 25 freestyle, Sarah Fulmer was eighth in the 25 backstroke, ninth in the 25 butterfly, 15th in the 50 freestyle and 20th in the 25 freestyle, Junette Ly was 12th in the 25 backstroke and 20th in the 25 butterfly and the 100 medley relay of Ashton Carey, Ly, Stallard and Sarah Fulmer was third.

For the girls 9-10 division, Sarah Starkey placed sixth in the 50 backstroke and eighth in the 50 breaststroke, Samantha Starkey was 12th in the 50 backstroke and 14th in the 50 butterfly, Chloe Reynolds finished 11th in the 50 freestyle and 12th in the 50 breaststroke, Mullaney Yoder was 14th in the 50 breaststroke and 19th in the 50 freestyle and Torrance Cline was 13th in the 50 freestyle.

In the 10-and-under division, Sarah Starkey took fourth in the 100 freestyle, Torrance Cline was ninth in the 100 freestyle, Samantha Starkey placed 11th in the 100 freestyle, Chloe Reynolds placed 12th in the 100 individual medley, the 200 medley relay of Samantha Starkey, Mullaney Yoder, Sarah Starkey and Cline was fourth and the 200 freestyle relay of Cline, Reynolds, Samantha Starkey and Sarah Starkey placed third.

For the 11-12 age group, the 200 medley relay of Madeline Dailey, Breanna Heath, Lauran Barthauer and Caroline Eader was seventh, the 200 freestyle relay of Dailey, Emily Jones, Heath and Lauran Barthauer placed sixth, Shelby Starkey was third in the 50 butterfly, fourth in the 200 freestyle, fifth in the 50 freestyle, sixth in the 50 backstroke and 12th in the 50 breaststroke, Amy Fulmer placed third in the 50 backstroke, fourth in the 100 freestyle, fifth in the 200 freestyle, seventh in the 50 freestyle and 16th in the 50 breaststroke, Madeline Dailey took 12th in the 200 freestyle, Lauran Barthauer placed 12th in the 100 individual medley and 12th in the 50 butterfly, Emily Jones was second in the 50 freestyle and Caroline Eader was third in the 50 freestyle.

In the 13-14 age division, Emily Fulmer was third in the 100 butterfly, fourth in the 200 freestyle, ninth in the 100 backstroke, ninth in the 50 freestyle and 12th in the 100 freestyle, Molly Schulz took seventh in the 100 backstroke and ninth in the 200 freestyle, Shelbi Moore was fifth in the 100 butterfly, 10th in the 100 backstroke and 11th in the 50 freestyle, Megan Barthauer was 10th in the 100 breaststroke and 13th in the 100 butterfly, Regan Horman finished 13th in the 100 breaststroke, Jenna Champion placed second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 freestyle relay team of Moore, Horman, Megan Barthauer and Schulz placed fifth.

For the boys in the open division, Josh Haisley finished second in the 50 freestyle, third in the 100 freestyle, fourth in the 200 individual medley and sixth in the 100 backstroke and Collin Jordan placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke.

In the boys 8-and-under division, Kelvin Ong placed seventh in the 25 breaststroke, 10th in the 50 freestyle, 11th in the 25 freestyle and 12th in the 25 butterfly, Jacob Salyer was 14th in the 25 butterfly, 15th in the 25 backstroke and 19th in the 25 freestyle and Zeke Reynolds took 17th in the 25 butterfly.

For the boys 10-and-under division, Sullivan Clem finished 10th in the 100 individual medley, Jared Salyer was 10th in the 100 freestyle, Zane Reynolds took 18th in the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay team of Jared Salyer, Zane Reynolds, Dylan Jordan and Sullivan Clem placed second.

In the 9-10 division, Jared Salyer placed fourth in the 50 breaststroke and ninth in the 50 freestyle, Dylan Jordan took 16th in the 50 backstroke and 17th in the 50 freestyle, Zane Reynolds was 15th in the 50 freestyle and 19th in the 50 backstroke and Sullivan Clem was ninth in the 50 breaststroke.

For the 11-12 age group, Collin Jordan was 12th in the 50 breaststroke.

In the boys 13-14 division, Kohl Moore placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke, 10th in the 100 freestyle, 10th in the 100 backstroke and 13th in the 50 freestyle.

Tavenner fares well

Indian Lake area resident Skyler Tavenner, who competes with the Auglaize-Mercer County Y team, had a big meet with first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley, 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle. He swam in the boys 13-14 age division.
