Davis helps team win soccer tourney

Connor Davis, a freshman at Indian Lake, recently helped his team win its division in the National Soccer Series CASL College Showcase tournament in Raleigh, N.C.

Davis competed with his club team, the Columbus-based Classics Eagles Red U16 squad. His team was selected to compete in the top level of the U16 boys division. In the six-team bracket, there were teams from Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, Maryland, Ohio and South Carolina. All of them were nationally ranked.

The Classics Eagles did not lose a game in taking the tournament title. Davis, a midfielder, scored a goal and had an assist.

There were over 350 college coaches on hand to watch the tournament.

For the season, the Classics Eagles have a record of 19-1-2.
