Tigers look forward to their shot at perennial power Coldwater

Like an expert beekeeper preparing to take honey from a mass of angry bees, the West Liberty-Salem football team is handling its business with an air of confidence as it prepares to face one of the most acclaimed and storied small school football programs in Ohio.

The Tigers take on a Coldwater team Saturday night that has played in the Division V state title game in each of the last three seasons, but they do not sound intimidated by the challenge.

“We can beat Coldwater,” said WL-Salem starting quarterback Riley Sims moments after his team defeated Dayton Christian in the first round of the playoffs. “If we beat Coldwater, there is no telling how far we can go.”
