Regardless of what is at stake, when Indian Lake and Benjamin Logan meet, a classic county battle is sure to ensue.

No postseason implications will be on the line Friday when the Lakers host the Raiders in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division finale, but both squads are hopeful of ending the season on a high note.

Indian Lake (5-4, 3-1) saw a four-game winning streak get snapped in a heartbreaking loss to Urbana last week. The Lakers led after a field goal with 23 seconds remaining, but Urbana came back with a touchdown in the final seconds to pull out the win.

While the Lakers are working to forget the tough loss, Ben Logan (4-5, 3-1) has built some momentum in recent weeks by winning three of its last four games. The Raiders are coming off a 47-7 victory over Greenon.

Urbana (8-1, 5-0) is likely to wrap up the CBC Mad River division crown with a win over Graham (1-8) on Friday, but if a shocking upset occurs and the Falcons win, the winner of the IL-BL game would earn a share of the division title.

“The league title is out of our control now, but what is in our control is a winning season,” said Indian Lake head coach Dave Coburn. “A winning season and runner-up finish in the league is what we can achieve and what we can control.
