That summed up the day for the area’s runners in the Division II district cross country races at the Miami Valley Career Technical Center.
Several Logan County competitors finished just shy of advancing to the regional meet.
The top four teams and top 16 individuals advanced to the regional meet.
Bellefontaine’s boys fell short of qualifying as a team by one spot after placing fifth with 127 points in the B race. Indian Lake also competed in the B race and took 10th with 280 points. Oakwood won the B race with 42 points.
“We ran our best race of the year by far,” said BHS head coach Ben Davis. “This gives us some motivation for next year. Our top three runners today were sophomores, so we have some good guys coming back to work with.”
