Urbana (17-7) opened the match with a dominating 25-15 win in the opening set, but the Chiefs put up a much stronger fight in the next two sets.
The Hillclimbers led by just a point (23-22) late in the second set, but scored two straight points to pull out the win.
Bellefontaine led 22-20 in the third set before the Hillclimbers rallied for a match clinching 25-23 win.
“The girls fought really hard,” said Bellefontaine head coach Tara Zedeker. “It’s unfortunate that we started out so slow, but I can’t be unhappy with the effort tonight. I am really proud of the girls. They have fought hard all season.”
