Cardinals to play Lehman in next round

Triad’s volleyball team advanced to the Division IV sectional final round Monday with a three-set win over Franklin Monroe at Piqua High School.

The Cardinals won 25-18, 25-17, 25-17.

With the win, Triad (9-14) moves on to face second-seeded Lehman Catholic at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Piqua.

Dayna Ober led the Cardinals with 15 points, two aces, 14 kills, one block and seven digs.

Also for Triad, Jenna Ober had 14 points and two digs, Hannah Watkins had 13 points, four aces, 12 assists, four kills and one block, Maddi Ehrenborg had 12 points, five digs and two kills, Jenna Welty recorded 10 points, one kill and 10 digs and Sabrina Thompson added four kills and two solo blocks.

Lehman defeated Ansonia 25-4, 25-3, 25-11 in its sectional semifinal contest Monday.
