Riverside’s football team had an impressive offensive performance Friday as it raced past visiting Emmanuel Christian 49-13 in a non-league contest.

The Lions are not yet a sanctioned varsity team by the OHSAA and the win will not count toward computer points for Riverside.

The Pirates racked up 487 rushing yards on offense and scored seven touchdowns on the ground. They did not attempt a pass.

Ryan Davidson led the way for Riverside with 159 rushing yards on 17 carries and had four touchdowns, while Dallas Daniels piled up 166 rushing yards on 14 carries for two scores. Connor Cotterman added 120 rushing yards on 14 carries and had one touchdown.

Defensively, Jed Carter had nine tackles, Cotterman had seven tackles and Kolt Shough and Jesse Kean each had an interception.

Riverside returns to action Friday at Lehman Catholic in a varsity Northwest Central Conference matchup.
