Chiefs top Falcons
Bellefontaine’s girls soccer team held on for a 3-1 win over host Graham on Wednesday in a Central Buckeye Conference matchup.
The Chiefs are now 4-2 overall and 4-0 in the CBC, while the Falcons fall to 1-4-1, 0-2-1.
“This was our fourth game in six days and we looked a little tired and played a little flat at times,” said BHS girls head coach Matt Price. “I was concerned of a letdown after (Wednesday) night’s big win, so we were fortunate to come home with a win.”
In the first half, Daniella Morris gave BHS a 1-0 lead after she scored off a corner kick. Julia Hunt gave the Chiefs a 2-0 lead when she scored off an assist from Regan Price.
Graham cut the lead in half with a goal in the second half for a 2-1 score, but Price added an insurance goal to help seal the victory.
In junior varsity action, Bellefontaine won 4-1 over Graham. Breanne Douce had three goals to power the Chiefs, while Kenzie Patton added the fourth goal.
Bellefontaine travels to Northwestern on Monday for a CBC contest.
