Bellefontaine’s football team will play only a 9-game schedule this fall after Friday’s game at Dayton Carroll was canceled because of lightning.
An attempt to begin the game was made at around 7:45 p.m. However, the contest did not go any further than the opening kickoff. After Carroll booted the kick out of bounds, more lightning hit and the two squads were sent back to their lockerrooms.
Following a brief wait, the game was called off. The two sides then attempted to come up with a new date to play the game, but an agreement could not be made and the decision was made to cancel the contest.
Bellefontaine (0-2) returns to action Friday at home against Benjamin Logan.
