The disappearing state rollback credit and exemption

The Special Election on Tuesday, Aug. 6, regarding the West Liberty-Salem ballot issue will provide a great opportunity to take advantage of the following incentives:

A. The 71 percent Ohio School Facility Commission State Funding share.

B. The state 10 percent and 2.5 percent rollback credit.

C. The State Homestead Exemption for those 65 or older.

The 71 percent share by the state will decrease if not approved in August. The state 10 percent and 2.5 percent Rollback Credit will no longer be available on new levies in November. In 2014 the State Homestead Exemption will only be available for people with income less than $30,000. These are three important reasons to support WL-S school on Aug. 6. Vote yes to take advantage of these tax savings before they disappear.
