Cora Belle Slemmons, 93, of North Lewisburg, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, in her residence.
She was born in Peoria on Aug. 13, 1919, a daughter of the late James Franklin and Carrie Leach Bowers Coe. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Elza Slemmons, and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by sons, Frank (Jeanie) Slemmons of Zanesfield and John Slemmons of North Lewisburg; daughters, Melody Sue (Randy) Longshore of North Lewisburg and Mary (Brian) Longshore of Trinity, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Paul Coe of Marysville.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Pastor David Hernandez officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Union Chapel Community Church, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. A graveside service is at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Westminster Salem Cemetery, Harrod.
