Brent Carter, 51, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Salina, Kan., on June 6, 1962, a son of Dale and Evelyn Timmons Carter, who survive in Bellefontaine.
On Dec. 1, 2001, he married the former Twyla Bright in Bellefontaine and she survives, along with their children, Betty Jean Carter, Kayla Christine Stillings and Dalton Steven Carter, all of Bellefontaine; mother-in-law, Christine Bright of Marysville; sisters-in-law, Tammy Bright of Marysville and Georganna (John) Voiles of West Mansfield; brother-in-law, Todd (Tracey) Bright of Raymond; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Orville and Hallie Carter; maternal grandparents, Charles and Florine Timmons; and a granddaughter, Samantha Jean Givens.
He was formerly employed for 18-plus years at Honda of America Mfg., East Liberty.
A 1980 graduate of Hilliard High School, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine.
He loved football and was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Brent loved his family, especially camping with them, and enjoyed motorcycles and collecting antiques.
Pastor William Zeller officiates a funeral at 7 p.m. Saturday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is three hours prior. Burial is at 11 a.m. Monday in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made toward a fund for his children through Huntington National Bank.
