Raymond E. Taylor, 71, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 23, 1942 in Urbana, to the late Robert O. and Dorotha L. Ewing Taylor.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Taylor; sister-in-law, Linda Taylor; and a brother-in-law, Rolland Blanke.
On Aug, 26, 1961, he married the former Patty L. Salyers in Woodstock and she survives, along with a daughter, Melanie (Greg) Green of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Brandie (Jake) Hobart of Huntsville and Samantha Green of Elida; two sisters, Beverly (Dick) Allen of Bellefontaine and Sharon Blanke of Canton; two brothers, Marion Taylor of Huntsville and Jack (Barbara) Taylor of Bellefontaine; a sister-in-law, Rita Taylor of Rosedale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He retired in 1998 from Nestle after 34 years of service and also worked eight years at TRC as a driver.
A U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Vietnam War, Raymond was a member of the Marysville Palestine Lodge158 F&AM and Indian Lake Moose Lodge 1533.
Pastor Bryan Meadows officiates a 3 p.m. memorial service Monday at the Huntsville United Methodist Church where calling is two hours prior to the service. Burial is in the Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.
