M. Virginia Inskeep, 92, of East Liberty, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Green Hills Community with her family at her side following an extended illness.
A loving homemaker, beloved mother and “Grandma Ginny”, she sold World Book Encyclopedias for many years, formerly worked with the custodial staff at Benjamin Logan schools, and served as clerk for the Perry Township Trustees.
She was a member of the Bellefontaine First Assembly of God and was a former member of the East Liberty Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for more than 50 years.
She graduated from West Mansfield High School in 1938.
Virginia was a proud member of the Logan County Republican Party, volunteered with the Logan County Election Board, and enjoyed her affiliation with the JGs (Junior Grandmothers).
She enjoyed reading and Bible study, loved flowers, and always enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s athletic events.
She always made the rounds on Christmas morning to visit everyone in her family and will be remembered as a beautiful, classy lady.
She was born Dec. 14, 1920, in West Mansfield to the late Lloyd and Belva Drake Elliott.
She married Donald “Skip” Inskeep on Jan. 16, 1939, in Maysville, Ky., and he preceded her in death April 23, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Leo Mortimore, brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Edna Elliott, two brothers, Jonathan Elliott and Donald Elliott; sister-in-law, Pat Titus Elliott; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vera and Donald Stevenson.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Dawn (Tom) Stratton of West Mansfield; three sons, Larry (Linda) Inskeep of West Liberty, Terry (Linda) Inskeep of Kenton and Tony (Alice) Inskeep of Belle Center; 11 grandchildren, Dawn (Jim) Boysel, Tina (Shane) Lotts, Michael (Dora) Inskeep, Staci Inskeep, Ty (Kelly) Inskeep, Todd (Michele) Inskeep, Scott Inskeep, Travis (Krista) Stratton, Troy (Jenni) Stratton, Tate (Hayley) Stratton and Karie Webb; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Carl (Sue) Elliott of West Mansfield; sister-in-law, Helen Elliott of West Mansfield; many nieces and nephews; and several devoted friends and caregivers.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home in West Mansfield, where at funeral begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Roger Larrison officiating. Burial is in East Liberty Cemetery.
