Margaret Elizabeth Lockwood, 95, of West Liberty, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in her residence.
She was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Lakeview, the daughter of Julius Addison and Mary Cleo Souder Fender.
Mrs. Lockwood was a member of Goshen Friends Church. She was a graduate of Middleburg High School in 1936 and Capital University in 1940.
She was a retired third-grade school teacher from Huntsville Local Schools. Her special interests included genealogy and music.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Marjorie and Richard Rohrer, Donald and Iona Lockwood, Dean Lockwood and Linda Scott, and Ruby and Jim Shaw; nine grandchildren, Kevin and Brian Rohrer, Sam, Emily, Amy, Mary, Georgia and Thomas Lockwood and LeAnn Hittle; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Lloyd M. Lockwood in 2011; and brother, Lawrence Fender and sister, Oma Williams.
A gathering of family and friends is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Jennings Farley Funeral Home, 5591 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty, where the funeral service is at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Bruce Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Zanesfield Township Cemetery.
