Charles David Crevison

Charles David Crevison, 66, of West Mansfield, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, following a serious one-month illness.

He was born in Rushsylvania on Nov. 17, 1946, to the late George and Ina Payne Crevison. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Crevison and Frank Crevison; a sister-in-law, Gini Crevison; and a brother-in-law, Bob Reynolds.

On Oct. 22, 1967, he married the former Janet Clapsaddle at the East Liberty Church of Christ and she survives, along with his son, Eric (Crystal) Crevison of Lakeview; three grandchildren, Aidan M., Lilian R. and Trevor C.; three sisters, Lois Reynolds of Rushsylvania, Daisy (Soap) Green of West Mansfield and Julia Thompson of Waverly, Tenn.; two brothers, Doug Crevison of Columbus and John Crevison of West Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Jennie Crevison of Smyrna, Tenn.; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Janet) Clapsaddle of East Liberty and Norm Clapsaddle of West Mansfield; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was retired from Logan County Children’s Services, where he had worked as a maintenance man and was formerly employed with Durez Plastic in Kenton. As a teenager and young man in Vinton County, Charlie helped support his family by working in the coal mines.

He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and collecting guns and World War II memorabilia.

He and his wife cared for 12 foster children throughout the years.

Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the  Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield. The Rev. Doug Thompson officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Monday at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church. Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
