William Edward “Bill” Bell, 76, of Russells Point, passed away Tuesday morning, June 18, 2013, at his home.

He was born in DeGraff in 1937 to the late Harold and Margaret Bell. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Bob; father- and mother-in-law, Glen and Millie Hurley; and brother-in-law, Jim Dickerson.

In January 1950, he married the former Shirley Hurley and she survives, along with their daughters, Susan Ann Reames of Zanesfield and Beverly Kay Bell of Russells Point; six grandchildren, Kavan (Diana Flohre) Reames, Lydia (Tylor Parsons) Reames, Miriam Reames, Naomi (Ryan Johnson) Reames, Orin Reames and Phoebe Reames; a great-grandson, William Ryan Johnson; two sisters, Kathleen (Roger) Weible and Brenda Bell; three brothers, Terry (Amie) Bell, Dean Bell and Gary (Debbie) Bell; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Betty Dickerson, Darel (Connie) Hurley, Bill (Diana) Hurley, Jack (Kelly) Hurley, Barb (Greg) Luzader, Russ (Lea Del) Hurley and Millicent (David) Bray; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, his dog Ginger.

Bill and brother-in-law Darel Hurley co-owned Phillips 66 in Huntsville. He also worked for UPS, first as a mechanic in Lima, and then as a supervisor in Kentucky. He retired from Rising Sun Express in Jackson Center, where he drove semis. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic.

Bill enjoyed fishing, especially for walleye, and playing cards.

He loved being with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Per his wishes, his body was cremated. Private family services are at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to organizations of the donors’ choices.
