Bernadine Keller, 88, of Belle Center, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Hardin County on Dec. 17, 1924, to the late Bernard and Mildred Crook Smith. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Laurea Ansley.
On June 18, 1949, she married David C. Keller in Kenton and they would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary today. He survives, along with their children, Ann (Michael) Hillman of Milwaukee, Wis., Mary (Richard) Schoeler of Peninsula and D.C. (Lisa) Keller of Belle Center; six grandchildren, David, Hanna, Christina, Ben, Christian and Madison.
Bernadine worked as a bookkeeper when she and David were first married. After the birth of their first child, she became a full-time homemaker and excelled in baking, especially pies, much to the delight of her family.
An active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Belle Center, she taught Sunday School and participated in many aspects of the church.
She was a member of Eastern Star and she enjoyed reading, playing bridge, singing and reading her Bible.
Her husband and children will miss being so well loved and cared for by her.
Pastor Jim Burton officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Presbyterian Church, Belle Center. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center. Burial is at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Bellefontaine Cemetery, 632 E. Brown Ave.
