N. Maxine Willoby, 95, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Green Hills Inn, West Liberty.
She was a Logan County native born Nov. 24, 1917, a daughter of the late Milton and Nellie Victoria Ammons Jacobs.
On May 3, 1952, she married Robert M. Willoby in Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death June 13, 1992. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Jacobs; two sisters, twin sister Pauline Culp and Frances “Peg” Moon; and one great-grandson.
She is survived by her two sons, Benjamin (Terri) Willoby of Bellefontaine and James (Alisa) Willoby of Cullman, Ala.; four grandchildren, David (Jessica) Willoby of Rushsylvania, Jared (Melody) Willoby of Lewistown, Benjamin Willoby II of Bellefontaine and Andrew (Lacey) Willoby of Bowling Green; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Maxine was a 1936 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and worked for H.G. Short & Company, Bellefontaine, until she was married and had her first child. She later went back to work and retired from the former Banc Ohio, National City Bank, presently PNC Bank, where she worked as a secretary.
Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her senior group.
She was a member of the Bellefontaine First Church of God.
Pastor Ron Irick officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
