Jerry Lee Parker, 72, formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Donalsonville, Ga., after losing his battle with cancer. The Lord was ready for him.
He was born in Harrod on June 25, 1940, a son of the late Harry and Gladys Parker. He also was preceded in death by one sister, Vondale; and a grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Rita, of Donalsonville; three daughters, Tammy Berry of Bellefontaine, Kathi (Terry) Brown of DeGraff and Della Parker-Kiser of Spring Lake, Mich.; a son, Terry Parker of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene (Joyce) Watts and Russel (Carol) Parker, both of Lima; and two sisters, Ann (Jim) Johnson of Uniopolis and Jeralou (Randall) Young of Harrod.
A custodial janitor, he worked in Ada, Wapakoneta and at Super Foods.
He loved mowing lawns, mowed the local cemetery and was very involved in his church. He told his wife when he goes to Heaven he wanted to mow the lawns.
His cremains will be scattered in a private memorial service in Donalsonville, Ga., at a later date.
