Ruth Marian Banta, 94, of Belle Center, died in her sleep Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013.
She was born in Freeport on March 16, 1919, to the late Seth L. and Lena Belle Cummins Snyder.
She moved to the Belle Center area as a young child and married Omer W. Banta on July 14, 1940, in Belle Center. He preceded her in death March 2, 1995. She also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joyce Banta.
Survivors include her children, Ron Banta of Belle Center, Roger (Drema) Banta of Cincinnati and Linda (David) Rinderknecht of Upper Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A 1937 graduate of Belle Center High School, she was a homemaker and taught piano for nearly 50 years. She was an active member of the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center. The Rev. Jim Burton officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
