David “Dave” Leslie Overly, 73, of Ridgeway, died at 12:37 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was born in Kenton on June 1, 1939, to the late Lloyd E. Overly and Edna L. Kinsey Worthington. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert, Warren and Harold Douglas Overly; a sister, Nora Lee Barnes; and an infant great-grandson.
On Sept. 4, 1959, he married the loved of his life, the former Marjorie Kay Berry, at the former First Friends Church in Bellefontaine and she survives, along with sons, Steven (Sandy) Overly and Garrett Overly, both of Mt. Victory; a daughter, Lorena Overly of Troy; six grandchildren, Tyler (Mandy) Overly, Craig (Beth) Overly, Reese Overly, Aric Overly, Sarah Royer and Emily Royer; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Ruth Wilson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a special nephew, Tom Overly of Mt. Victory.
A 1957 graduate of Ridgeway High School, he served in the Army Reserves in 1957.
Dave retired from Whirlpool Corp. in Marion on Jan. 1, 2000, after 41 years.
He was a member of the Ridgeway Church of Christ and Logan County Antique Tractor Association, and was an avid antique tractor and gas engine collector and restorer.
Pastor Cory Savage conducts a funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Mt. Victory, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial is in Miami Cemetery in Rushsylvania.
