Beatrice M. ‘Bea’ Wickstrom Reynolds

Beatrice M. “Bea” Wickstrom Reynolds, 90, of Kenton, died at 11:54 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Detroit on Aug. 14, 1922, a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Winkler Wickstrom.

On Dec. 28, 1943, she married Minor “Bud” Reynolds in Richmond, Ind., and he died in 1994. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Augusta “Gussie” Maki; grandson, Rodd Lautenschlager; stepbrother, Robert Asbury; an aunt and uncle, Osborn and Theora Bloom, who raised her for many years; and her stepmother, Thelma Asbury Wickstrom.

Survivors include daughters, Lois (Robert) Lautenschlager of Kenton, Lynda (Leon) Barbee of Kenton and Sandra Heissler of Normal, Ill.; grandchildren, Shannon Kelly, Jason Heissler, Miriam Heather Barbee and Stephanie H. (Chad) Barbee Morris; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Theora Belle Smith of New Hampshire and Carol Joyce Parker of Michigan; and granddaughter-in-law, Heather Lautenschlager Oliver of Mt. Victory.

A 1941 graduate of Detroit North High School, she worked for many lawyers, universities and doctors.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kenton, the United Methodist Women, Deborah Circle, Zetetic Club, Order of Eastern Star Latham Lodge 364, Women’s Emblem Club in Phoenix and the Round Table Square at the Elks.

An avid reader, she had a passion for ice cream and loved scented candles and crossword puzzles. She was known for her wit and “punny” jokes.

She especially loved her time with family and all celebrations.

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral Home, Kenton. Pastor Loren Miracle conducts a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Kenton. Burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery is at a later date.
