James H. “Jim” Jackson, 68, of Zanesfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Green Hills Community, West Liberty, with his family at his side.
He was born in Grayson, Ky., on Oct. 25, 1944, to the late Frank and Victoria Hill Jackson.
On Oct. 27, 1979, he married the former Donna Richardson and she preceded him in death Jan. 5, 2005. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Williamson; and a brother, Phillip Jackson; and his former wife, Margaret “Peggy” Pape Jackson, who died in July 1977.
Survivors include seven daughters, Brenda Bicking of Austin, Texas, Tammy “T.J.” (Trevor) Nenninger of West Milton, Tammy (Roger) Williamson of West Mansfield, Jayme Jackson of Wapakoneta, Cheryl Long of Kenton, Wendy Anderson of West Mansfield and Tiffany (Doug) Brewster of Canonsburg, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Drake of Byhalia; three brothers, Harlan Jackson of Raymond, Jack (Cindy) Jackson of West Liberty and Bob Jackson of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
A 1962 graduate of York-Byhalia High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1966 and was a shear operator with Whirlpool in Marion for more than 35 years.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating, and made many happy memories with his family at their getaway at Johnny’s Resort in Port Clinton.
A proud father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, he was dearly loved by his family.
The Rev. Doug Thompson officiates a funeral at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield, where visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Burial with military honors by the Logan County Honor Guard is in North Greenfield Cemetery.
