Jennifer Anne Westbay Helberg, 40, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala.
She was born May 21, 1972, to the Rev. Michael V. and Nancy L. Westbay, who survive in Wapakoneta. On Aug. 29, 2000, she married Joseph Helberg, who survives. Jennifer and her husband and daughter, Rylie Gwen, 10, moved to Helena, Ala., in the summer of 2011. Jennifer also is survived by her grandfather, Vernon Westbay of Bellefontaine; her brother, Christopher M. Westbay and family Melissa, Christopher and Chloe, all of Hilliard; and stepdaughter, Christine Helberg of McClure.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harold and Ruth Presar; paternal grandmother, LaVerta Westbay; and an infant niece, Cara Westbay.
A 1990 graduate of Coldwater High School, Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Philosophy degree with honors from Bowling Green State University in 2006.
At the time of her death, she was an administrative assistant with the Shelby County, Ala., Humane Society.
Jennifer was a loving wife and mother. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. She also loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She gave of herself freely.
The Revs. R.J. Davis and Rev. Tamara Wood officiate a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, where visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday. Interment is private at a late date.
