Pauline Moffitt, 89, of West Liberty, passed away at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Monroe Township on July 31, 1923, a daughter of the late Leo and Margaret King Grimes.
She married Kaylor Moffitt and he preceded her in death, along with a sister, Ruth Wirick, and two brothers, Mark and Ben Grimes.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Pegg) Moffitt of Zanesfield, Margaret Gerrietts of West Liberty and Keith (Betsy) Moffitt of Delaware; grandchildren, Kwyn, Kara, Kyle, Nathan, Julie, Katie, Jake, Josh and Josie; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kate Plank and Phyllis Wallace, both of Bellefontaine; brothers, Leo Grimes Jr. of Summerset, Ky., Joe (Sylvia) Grimes of Piqua and Don (Carol Ann) Grimes of Kenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 1941 graduate of Monroe High School, she enjoyed reading, keeping up on current affairs, politics and had lots of good friends and loved staying in contact with them.
She was a homemaker and a member of Zanesfield United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. A family-oriented person, she enjoyed making maple syrup on the farm and was a great cook, especially her pie making.
Pastor Gene Phelps conducts a funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home, West Liberty, where calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the funeral. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
