Ephonia Mae “Mazie” Coleman, 86, passed away peacefully at 7:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at her home in Bellefontaine.
Mazie was born in Bellefontaine on Feb. 7, 1926, to the late Irene Elizabeth Crump Hawkins and Theodore James Lewis. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Hawkins, William Hawkins and Clarence E. Lewis; and a stepsister, Isabelle Newsome.
On Feb. 13, 1959, she married Eddie H. Coleman in Dayton and he survives, along with a son, Eddie C. (Lisa Ann) Coleman Jr.; a grandson, Tyrone C. Coleman; two granddaughters, Angel Mae Coleman and Haley Marie Coleman; and a great-grandson, Tevin J. Coleman Burris.
In 1986, she retired from Westinghouse.
She had a true passion for bingo and scratching lottery tickets.
She was a wonderful grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
The Rev. Frank McCullough officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Monday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is two hours prior. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
